Behold, I shew you a mystery…”
The Parable Revealed
Jesus Christ Opens the Seals
Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Mar 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
Mat 13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Mat 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Mat 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Mat 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Jesus Christ, who is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, is the only one found worthy to open the seals and reveal mysteries hidden from the foundation of the world. One way He reveals these Truths are through the Parables.
At the time of conversion, Jesus Christ makes his abode within us, and then a wondrous thing occurs --our eyes can now SEE and our ears can now HEAR the spiritual truths that reside only in God, and revealed only by His Spirit. Hallelujah! Our hearts are no longer waxed gross (calloused), hardened and resisting the Spirit of Life that is Christ.
The unregenerate soul cannot perceive the things of God, for they are foolishness to him:
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Why is it that the natural man cannot know God? How or who reveals the Father?
Luk 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ and we MUST go to Him, and Him alone to know that Truth. It is written, and we do well to heed, that all who came before Christ were thieves. While some may say there are many ways to know God, we learn within our faith, and know of a certain, that the only way to know the Father is through the Son of God, who is His Word.
If, therefore, a soul is unwilling to open to the working of the Holy Spirit who draws us, that soul will not know God. We must eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man, who is, the Tree of Life. If we reject the Lord’s table, that is, the Word of God, then it’s rich mysteries and truths will be heard as stammering lips and another tongue.
In recalling Stephen’s bold proclamation to the members of various synagogues, we learn that they were stubborn men, and stiff-necked, with “uncircumcised hearts and ears,” who resisted the Holy Spirit. One of my teachers recently shared a revelation, that Jesus Christ came with a Sword to circumcise our hearts. (I stand at the door and knock…) If we open that door, we will be healed. There is our conversion. There is our healing. There the Lamb of God will lead us to living fountains of waters.
Behold I shew you a mystery…
We can know God! We can have fellowship with Him! We can hear His voice and know His Spirit! We see the power of grace working within our being, perfecting us, and teaching us the truths that were once hidden to our knowledge by the god of this world. Precious truths, more precious than gold, that are revealed by our Master, Teacher and Rabbi. What was indeed a mystery before life in Christ, is now clear as crystal, as the water that proceeds from the Throne of God and the Lamb. Not only will the Christian understand the hidden things of God, they will receive spiritual power and gifts.
